Papercut Media Film production and drone crew.jpg

Papercut Media circa 1993.

Way back in 1993 is where it all started. Well not quite started but you get the idea.

Harry and Matt first met in Nursery in Tamworth where they quickly formed a bond. Little did we realise where their friendship would lead them over the next 27 years.

They first picked up their parents camcorders around 1997 when they started making silly home movies and showing them to their parents.

Years later in 2001 they went digital. Creating videos inspired by the skateboard culture of the time, jumping off walls, crashing shopping trolleys (sorry ASDA!)

And that was that.

Until…

Papercut 2012.

Fresh from University Matt and Harry found themselves living in Sheffield where one day after work they were watching the latest film from Sandbox, an up and coming snowboard manufacturer when a drone appeared in one of the shots.

At the time drones were cobbled together pieces of equipment created in basements. Nothing off the shelf existed. The shot this thing created was like nothing they’d seen before. Something which they wanted to create themselves.

Fast forward to early 2013, Matt was measuring river depths, Harry was part time call centre worker, part time drone builder. Many months of testing followed before they were confident enough to offer their new drone service to customers.

Before long the business was off the ground, taking them to places across the world shooting for prestigious clients such as Panasonic, BBC and Channel 4.

They still pride themselves on their ability to provide world class aerial services and have credits on OSCAR and BAFTA winners to prove it.

Since the early days they have adapted to utilise the very best in camera equipment to enable them to not only provide drone footage but to take on full productions.

From then til now.

Providing drone footage is only the beginning.
