We use a powerful six rotor hexacopter with a brushless gimbal fitted with the latest professional stabilisation chip on the market. The set up is dual operated ensuring that the pilot can focus on the flying whilst the camera operator can concentrate on capturing the perfect shot. Onboard we have a GPS navigation unit which enables the craft to know it's precise location and compass direction allowing for an extraordinary level of control in all conditions.
The craft will then land itself in the event of low battery or transmitter failure ensuring the safety of everyone involved in the shoot. Our Hexacopter was built using UK manufactured parts from vulcan UAV, with the incredible DJI Wookong autopilot system. We feel it is important to know the technical details of our system so we built it ourselves, ensuring we know every part of the craft brings the level of reliability expected by our customers.
The camera mount is designed specifically to do one thing, hold the camera still. Using state of the art stablisation firmware, the gimbal can hold professional cameras such as our Panasonic GH4 with the precision of a steadicam, whilst maintaining pan and tilt control through our second controller and video downlink. This incredible design alongside our retractable landing gear allows for complete 360 panning, with the landing gear never in shot.
