HOW IT ALL STARTED
Papercut Media Ltd. began its journey in 1993 when two kids, Harry and Matt, met at a nursery in Tamworth and formed a bond. This laid the groundwork for what would become a pioneering force in drone cinematography, film production, and photography in Birmingham.
Their story with cameras started around 1997 when they first grabbed their parents' camcorders, crafting silly home movies showcased proudly to their families. Years later, in 2001, they went digital. Inspired by the skateboard culture of the time, they started creating videos featuring stunts like jumping off walls and the occasional shopping trolley mishaps. For a long time, it was just that, not realising where their friendship would lead them over the next 27 years.

HOW IT’S GOING
Fresh from University, Matt and Harry found themselves in Sheffield, where they stumbled upon a significant moment while watching a film from Sandbox, an up-and-coming snowboard manufacturer. A drone unexpectedly appeared in one of the shots, igniting their passion for aerial cinematography. At the time, drones were cobbled-together pieces of equipment created in basements. The shot this thing created was like nothing they had seen before. Something that they wanted to create themselves.
In early 2013, Matt, measuring river depths, and Harry, juggling part-time call centre work and drone building, started out on a journey of testing and refinement. Their dedication bore fruit as they launched their drone service, propelling them to international acclaim and collaborating with esteemed clients like Aston Martin, Panasonic, BBC, and Channel 4.
With a track record including credits on OSCAR and BAFTA winners, their commitment to delivering world-class aerial services remains unwavering. Over 12 years in the industry, they have evolved to offer full production capabilities, using the best camera equipment and a fully qualified and insured team.
